Managing resource pools in a multi-project environment can prove problematic. SmartCore provides capabilities, within a centralised database, that allow managers to accurately monitor and control resources at several levels.
SmartCore availability grids can be used to show resource utilisation at any level of the organisational hierarchy. Each bucket (representing a capacity period) fills up as demand assigned to that periods. The split between Project and BAU demand can be shown and clicking on each bucket shows the underlying detail. Capacity and utilisation data is captured at the lowest available level and can be aggregated at any desired level. Different views of utilisation data is captured at the lowest available level and can be aggregated at any desired level.
In addition, SmartCore can record skills, training, evaluation outcomes and a complete history of all roles undertaken. If required, skills matching can be used to define sets of skills and then to identify resources capable of undertaking a role or to identify roles that would suit a given resource.
SmartCore Timesheets can be used to record time against planned and actual activities.
